Questions Indiana homeowners ask

What parts of Indiana do you cover?

We work with homeowners across the state, in the cities listed on this page and the towns around them. If you do not see your community, call us anyway. Coverage shifts with technician routing, and we would rather tell you straight than leave you guessing.

Indiana summers get humid. Why does my house feel clammy even when the AC is running?

Cooling and dehumidifying happen together, so a system that is oversized, low on refrigerant, or moving air through a dirty coil can hit the thermostat setpoint without pulling much moisture out. We check airflow, coil condition, refrigerant charge and run times, then explain what is driving the humidity. Before you call, change the filter and confirm supply vents are open.

How soon can someone come out?

Call and we will give you the next available window rather than a vague promise. No heat in a cold snap and no cooling in a heat wave move up the list. If you can text a photo of the model and serial plate on the indoor unit, it helps us arrive with the right parts.

I smell gas near my furnace. What do I do?

Leave the house right now, take everyone with you, and do not touch switches or your phone until you are outside. From a safe distance call 911 or your gas utility. Once they have cleared the property, call us and we will inspect the furnace, the venting and the connections. Same goes for a carbon monoxide alarm.

What should I have ready before the technician arrives?

Know roughly how old the system is, when the trouble started, and whether it is heating, cooling or both. Clear a path to the indoor unit and the outdoor unit, and pull leaves or snow drift away from the outdoor cabinet. Check that the thermostat has fresh batteries and that no breaker has tripped. If you have past repair paperwork, set it out.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, no air, a smell, a noise, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on the phone shorten the visit considerably.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical connections, the outdoor unit and the heat exchanger side before naming a cause. You get the finding in plain words, not a parts list you cannot read.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and what happens if you wait. Nothing gets replaced without your say so. Most common repairs are handled the same visit.

Why homeowners call us

  • Old housing stock is normal hereBasements with converted octopus trunk lines, ducts retrofitted around joists, returns that were never sized right. We work in these houses constantly and we size the repair to the house you actually have.
  • Long heating seasonsFurnaces in this region run hard from October into April, and lake effect stretches it further. We know what wear looks like at that mileage, from cracked igniters to blower motors that have been dragging for two winters.
  • Cooling and heating bothOne crew for air conditioning repair and heating repair. The same ductwork moves air in July and January, so a technician who understands both sides catches problems a single-season contractor tends to walk past.
  • Plain talk about repair versus replaceSometimes a part fixes it for years. Sometimes you are putting money into a system that is done. We tell you which one we think you are looking at and why, then leave the decision with you.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
