Homeowners' pick for heating and cooling across northeast Ohio and the Western Reserve

Furnace Installation — Book a Visit Today

We install and replace gas furnaces in homes across Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, New York and West Virginia, and the next step is a visit to measure what your house actually needs. Furnaces come to the end of the road in familiar ways: a cracked heat exchanger, a burner section that will not stay lit, a blower motor that has been failing all winter, or a repair bill that no longer makes sense on a unit past its service life. On our visit we look at the whole picture, including the ductwork, the flue, the gas line, the return air and the electrical supply, because a new furnace bolted onto old problems still runs poorly. You get sizing options and a plain explanation of the work. Call us and we will come look.

Furnace Installation — residential furnace installation being serviced

The furnace installation symptoms we hear most

  • Our furnace is 20-some years old and we keep patching it End of service life, repeated repairs on obsolete parts
  • A technician told us the heat exchanger is cracked Combustion safety failure, replacement territory
  • The upstairs never gets warm, no matter what we set it to Undersized or badly matched furnace, duct and return air problems
  • It short cycles, kicking on and off all evening Oversized furnace, restricted airflow, or control and limit faults
  • There is a burnt or sooty smell when the heat runs Burner and combustion issues, blocked venting

Whether you call it furnace installation, furnace replacement or heater installation, the work is identical and so is the quote you approve first.

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Check the thermostat: fresh batteries, set to heat, and the target temperature above the room temperature.
  • 2Look at your electrical panel for a tripped breaker on the furnace or air handler circuit and reset it once.
  • 3Change or replace the air filter if it is grey and packed, since a clogged filter chokes airflow and trips limits.
  • 4Walk the house and confirm supply and return vents are open and not blocked by furniture or rugs.

Furnace Installation — quick answers

How do you decide what size furnace my house needs?

We measure the house rather than copy the old nameplate. Square footage, insulation, window count, duct capacity and the layout all factor into the BTU load. Many older homes were fitted with furnaces far larger than needed, which causes short cycling and uneven rooms.

How long does a furnace installation take?

Most straight swaps run a single day. Work that involves new venting, gas line changes, moving the unit, or duct and return air modifications can stretch into a second day. We tell you which one you are looking at before we start.

Can I keep my existing ductwork?

Often yes, but we inspect it first. Retrofit duct in older homes is frequently undersized on the return side, which starves a new furnace of airflow. If we find that, we explain what needs changing and what it will affect.

Should I replace the AC at the same time?

If both are original and the cooling side is near the end of its life, doing them together saves a second round of labor and lets us match the blower to the coil properly. If your AC has years left, we say so.

Is a high-efficiency furnace worth the upgrade for me?

It depends on your heating season, your existing venting and whether condensate drainage is workable where the furnace sits. High-efficiency units vent differently and need a drain. We walk the space with you and tell you honestly whether it fits.

What if I smell gas before or after installation?

Leave the building immediately with everyone inside, do not flip switches, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Once they have cleared the property, call us and we will come check the furnace and connections.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill in the quote form and describe what changed. Warm air, no air, a smell, a noise, a breaker that keeps tripping. Details on the phone shorten the visit considerably.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, airflow, electrical connections, the outdoor unit and the heat exchanger side before naming a cause. You get the finding in plain words, not a parts list you cannot read.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and what happens if you wait. Nothing gets replaced without your say so. Most common repairs are handled the same visit.

Why homeowners call us

  • Old housing stock is normal hereBasements with converted octopus trunk lines, ducts retrofitted around joists, returns that were never sized right. We work in these houses constantly and we size the repair to the house you actually have.
  • Long heating seasonsFurnaces in this region run hard from October into April, and lake effect stretches it further. We know what wear looks like at that mileage, from cracked igniters to blower motors that have been dragging for two winters.
  • Cooling and heating bothOne crew for air conditioning repair and heating repair. The same ductwork moves air in July and January, so a technician who understands both sides catches problems a single-season contractor tends to walk past.
  • Plain talk about repair versus replaceSometimes a part fixes it for years. Sometimes you are putting money into a system that is done. We tell you which one we think you are looking at and why, then leave the decision with you.
  • All major brands, gas & electricIndependent service on Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, York and the rest.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
